Fortunately, you found this blog. Well, stick around, because we will give you different ways to get your Office 365 for free or at a cheaper price, maybe.

Office 365 home and business plans include sought-after applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Skype, and more. The Office 365 apps really have the best features for desktop publishing purposes. You may be a student who wants to use Word for writing project proposals, an employee who wants to utilize PowerPoint for marketing presentations, or just someone who wants to explore Office 365. One of the reasons that a lot of people hesitate to buy Office 365 plans is because they only want to use few apps temporarily.

Take note that Office 365 offers plans for home and business purposes. The home plans (Office 365 Home, Office 365 Personal, and Office Home & Student 2019) can cost you from CA$88.87 to CA$178. The business plans (Office 365 Business, Office 365 Business Premium, and Office 365 Business Essentials) will have you pay from CA$3.31 to CA$13.25. The plans can be pretty costly if you are on a tight budget, so here are different ways to enjoy Office 365 for free.

Web Version

Let’s start with the free online version of Office 365. You can visit this link and click the Use free at Office.com button. You will then need to provide your Microsoft account in signing in or create one.

In creating an account, you will be asked to either provide an email account, a phone number, or a new email address. Once you have an account, you will be taken to the Office website. Your Microsoft account entitles you to a 5 GB of free OneDrive storage. Pretty awesome, right?

Once you are in the Office website, you can already use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Skype, Calendar, People, and other apps. At the bottom of the page, you will see your created files for easy access. By the way, those are saved in OneDrive, which you got when you created your Microsoft account.

Take note that all the Office apps have limited features as compared to the ones you get when you subscribe to home and business plans.

Mobile Version

Another way to get Office apps for free is to use the mobile version. You can read more information here. If you are using an Android phone, you have to download the individual apps. Take note that Microsoft only offers these apps for Android 4.4 (KitKat) and higher versions. The available Office apps on Play Store are Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Outlook, OneNote, and SharePoint.

If you are on iOS devices, you can click this link and download the individual apps. Not all iOS devices can use Office apps for free, though. iPad Pro users need to buy an Office 365 plan before they can enjoy the Office apps.

Office 365 Home Trial Version

Good news for Windows 10 and macOS users, you can get Office 365 for free. The Office 365 Home has a one-month free trial. The only requirement you need is a credit card.

You need to provide your credit card details, but you can cancel anytime before the free trial is over. If you would like to continue using the Office 365 Home, you can purchase the plan for an amount of £79.99 per year.

Provide Valid School Email Address

Another way to enjoy Office 365 for free is to have these three requirements: school-specific email address provided by the school that can receive external email; legal age to sign up for an online offer individually; and Internet access.

Microsoft makes sure that students and educators at eligible institutions can sign up for Office 365 Education for free. This plan allows you to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Microsoft Teams, and additional classroom tools.

This plan is individually licensed for use only by the eligible teacher. This means that you can’t share this plan with others. Your colleagues can get their own license here.

Ask Your Employer

If you are employed as a writer or an editor, you will be using Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ask your immediate head, IT representatives, or any person in authority if your company subscribes to any of the Office 365 business plans to grant you access in using Office apps.

If your company subscribes to Office 365 Business and Office 365 Business Premium plans, Office apps and other services are included. But if your company is only paying for the Office 365 Business Essentials, you won’t be able to use Office apps because these are not included in the said plan.

Spot Good Deals

You can get Office apps for free when you purchase personal computers or laptops, but you need to look for vendors who offer this kind of bundle.
